The problem
Cassandra Quaye initiated the optimization of an environmental compliance SaaS platform built using Softr, Airtable, and Stripe. The platform was already structured but required refinement to improve synchronization, usability, and automation. The objective was to transform the existing system into a polished, scalable, and fully functional product capable of managing compliance obligations, permits, and regulatory workflows. The engagement included restructuring the database, enhancing UI/UX, implementing automated reminders, and refining subscription-based payment systems.
What we built
EcoComply is a SaaS-based environmental compliance management platform designed to help organizations track regulations, permits, and compliance obligations efficiently. The system was built using Softr as the frontend interface, Airtable as the database, and Stripe for subscription-based billing.
The project focused on optimizing an existing MVP by improving the Softr interface, restructuring Airtable databases, and ensuring seamless synchronization between systems. A key component involved refining the onboarding workflow, allowing users to define industries, jurisdictions, permit types, and operational activities to dynamically generate compliance obligations.
Advanced automation features were implemented, including scheduled reminders for permit renewals (90, 60, 30, and 7 days before expiration), ensuring users remain compliant without manual tracking. The Stripe integration was reviewed and enhanced to support subscription tiers and scalable pricing models.
Additional improvements included enhanced UX/UI design, better data structuring for regulations and obligations, and role-based views such as compliance officers managing multiple companies. The platform was deployed on a custom domain (ecocomply.ca) and designed with scalability in mind for future enhancements.
