MatchTutorSG is a comprehensive online platform designed to connect tutors with students and parents seeking tuition services. The platform offers various access levels for admins, tutors, and clients, ensuring a seamless experience for all users. Tutors can manage their profiles, apply for assignments, and handle their schedules, while clients can search for tutors, submit tuition requests, and manage their bookings. The platform also includes features for admin management, such as verifying tutor qualifications and handling payments. Additionally, MatchTutorSG integrates a chat feature for real-time communication between tutors and clients and uses Stripe for secure payment processing. Custom code has been implemented to optimize the application for performance and user experience.
The problem
Zenia Chng approached with the idea of building an efficient online platform to connect students and tutors in Singapore. The vision was to streamline tutor discovery, booking, and communication — all within one centralized system. The solution was developed on **Softr**, integrating **Airtable** as the backend database and **Make.com** for workflow automation. The project focused on enabling two primary user roles (students and tutors), supporting in-app communication, automated billing via **Stripe**, and a review system for tutors. Additionally, Zenia requested customized dashboards, assignment approval workflows, and automated email notifications to keep all parties informed in real time. The result was a modern, user-friendly tutor-matching portal that simplified operations for both tutors and students, improving transparency and engagement.
