Airtable automation that removes the manual work

The tell is always the same: somebody re-keys the same information into two systems, or a step only happens because a person remembers it. We automate those, using Airtable's own automations where they are enough and Make or Zapier where they are not, with the error handling that decides whether an automation is dependable or just usually fine.

What can Airtable automation do?

Airtable automation runs the repetitive steps your team currently does by hand: creating records, sending notifications, updating statuses, and moving data between Airtable and other tools. Airtable's built-in automations cover simple cases; Make or Zapier handle multi-step logic, error handling, and anything crossing several systems.

What you get

Who this is for

What we typically build

Client onboarding sequences

A new record triggers the folder, the welcome email, the kickoff task, and the calendar invite, in order, without anyone driving it.

Two-way syncs with other systems

Airtable and your CRM, invoicing tool, or support desk kept in step, so the same fact is never entered twice or disagreed about.

Payment and billing workflows

Stripe events writing back to Airtable so paid, overdue, and refunded reflect reality rather than someone's memory of it.

Alerting and escalation

Slack or email notifications when something crosses a threshold or stalls too long, including when the automation itself fails.

What it costs

A focused set of automations around one workflow usually fits Automation Starter at $2,500 over 10 days. Most engagements land in Automation Pro at $5,500 over 3 weeks, covering multi-step Make or Zapier scenarios, third-party integrations, and proper error handling. Automation spanning many systems moves up to Custom Build.

How it works

  1. 1

    Find the manual steps

We map the workflow and identify which steps are repetitive, which are error-prone, and which are worth automating at all.

  2. 2

    Build and test

We build the automations, then deliberately fail them to check the error handling behaves before they are anywhere near your live data.

  3. 3

    Launch and document

We switch them on, monitor the first runs, and hand over documentation of every scenario and what it touches.

Frequently asked questions

Should we use Airtable automations, Make, or Zapier?

Airtable's built-in automations are free and fine for single-step work inside one base. Make handles branching logic, loops, and error handling far better and usually costs less than Zapier at volume. Zapier wins on breadth of integrations. We pick per workflow rather than standardising on one, and we say which we used and why.

What happens when an automation fails?

That is most of the work, and it is what separates an automation you can depend on from one that is usually fine. We build retries where a retry is safe, and alerting where it is not, so a failure reaches a person instead of going unnoticed.

Can you automate a base you did not build?

Yes. We audit the base first, because automation built on a base that was never designed tends to encode the existing mess. If the schema is the real problem we say so, and quote the fix separately rather than automating around it.

Do we own the automations afterwards?

Yes. They live in your Airtable, Make, or Zapier accounts, documented, and you can change or switch them off without us.
