Gollars — Employees App

The problem

Employees of partnered organizations had no central place to find and claim local perks, vendors had no reliable channel to reach them, and there was no trustworthy way to track redemptions for ROI.

The wider platform also needed a browser-safe redemption method — native QR scanning was unreliable in-browser.

What we built

The employee-facing app that turns vendor-listed offers into claimed, redeemable, trackable rewards — one of four connected apps in the Gollars ecosystem (Vendor, Employee, Employer, Admin).

Employees are the end users; the app operates alongside the Vendor, Employer, and Admin apps on a shared central database.

• Offer discovery with filters by location, offer type, and vendor.
• Secure, trackable code-based redemption (chosen over QR codes due to in-browser limitations), capturing time and frequency metadata.
• Rewards program that unlocks after an employee claims a set number of offers.
• Automatic birthday and anniversary rewards triggered without vendor input.
• Nearby-offers discovery using distance-based sorting.
• Employee profiles with savings / rewards progress tracking.

How we built it

Built in Softr on the shared Gollars database, with CustomJS delivering the redemption-code generation/validation, Haversine distance sorting for nearby offers, and the dynamic rewards-progress logic.

Live polling keeps offer and redemption state current, and the data structure ties cleanly into the vendor, employer, and admin apps so a single redemption is visible across the ecosystem.
