  • Vaibhav Garg, Lead Builder & Founder at Portalcrafter

    Vaibhav Garg

    Lead Builder & Founder

Vaibhav founded Portalcrafter in 2023 after six years building no-code systems for SMBs and agencies. He scopes every build, sets the fixed quote, and leads the client portal and marketplace work, including the Softr, Airtable, Make.com and Stripe integrations that most of our larger builds run on.

  • Vijay Thapa, Senior Softr Specialist at Portalcrafter

    Vijay Thapa

    Senior Softr Specialist

Vijay leads the front end: the Softr pages your users actually touch, the responsive behavior, and the white-label detail that makes a portal read as your product rather than a template. Four years of frontend work before no-code, which is why our builds hold up on mobile.

  • Mehtab Singhla, Automation Engineer at Portalcrafter

    Mehtab Singhla

    Automation Engineer

Mehtab builds the parts that run without anyone watching: Make and Zapier flows, Airtable automations, and the API work connecting Salesforce, HubSpot, QuickBooks, DocuSign and the rest. When a build needs real JavaScript, it is usually his.

Do you need an Airtable developer or a Softr developer?

If the work is the data itself, the schema, the automations, the migration off a spreadsheet, this is the right page. If people outside your company need to log in and see only their own records, that is a front end on top of the base, and the work starts on the Softr side. Most projects need both, and it is the same team either way.

Process

How hiring us works

The schema is agreed before anything in your live base changes, which is the step that decides whether the rest goes smoothly.

  1. 01

Show us the base or the spreadsheet

A 20-minute call, or just a share link. We look at what you have, what it has to do, and what is currently blocking it.

  2. 02

Get a fixed quote in 24 hours

A fixed price against a fixed timeline, in writing. Cancel any time before kickoff at no cost.

  3. 03

    We design, then build

The schema gets agreed with you before anything in your live base changes, because restructuring after the data has moved means doing it twice.

  4. 04

    Hand over and document

The base is transferred to your account with the reasoning written down, plus 14 days of free post-launch bug-fixes.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between an Airtable developer and an Airtable consultant?
In practice the titles are used interchangeably, and the distinction that matters is what you get at the end. A consultant is often engaged hourly to advise, leaving you to implement. We quote a fixed price to design and build the thing, document it, and hand it over. If you only want the advice, say so on the call and we will scope it that way.
Can you work inside our existing Airtable base?
Yes, and most of our Airtable work is exactly that. We audit the base first, because building on a base that was never designed usually means encoding the existing problems. If the schema is the real issue we say so and quote the fix separately, rather than quietly working around it.
Do we need Softr, or is Airtable enough on its own?
Often Airtable is enough. If the people using it are your own team, Airtable's own interfaces may cover it and you should not pay for more. You need a front end when someone outside the company logs in, when each account must see only its own records, or when it has to run under your brand and domain. We wrote up the whole distinction in Softr vs Airtable.
How quickly can you start?
Most projects start within 48 hours of the discovery call. You can cancel any time before kickoff at no cost.
Who owns the base when the work is finished?
You do. The Airtable base and everything we build in it is transferred to your account, documented, and editable by your team without a developer. Every build includes 14 days of free post-launch bug-fixes, and optional retainers start at $500/month.
Are you Airtable experts, or generalists who also use Airtable?
Airtable is the data layer under essentially everything we have shipped since 2023, across more than 125 builds. All three builders have public Upwork profiles with verifiable review histories, linked below. Check them rather than taking the claim at face value.
