Hockey Trainer Marketplace & Subscription Platform

The problem

The client aimed to build a public-facing marketplace where хокey trainers could list their services and be discovered by players and parents. The platform required a structured onboarding flow, dynamic service listings (virtual and in-person), and a monetization system using subscription tiers. A key goal was to ensure high conversion rates by capturing user data before payment while maintaining a seamless browsing experience for visitors.

What we built

This project involved building a scalable marketplace platform for хокey trainers using Softr, with a focus on discoverability, onboarding optimization, and monetization. The platform allows trainers to create detailed profiles, list multiple service types (both virtual and in-person), and define their service areas with dynamic location logic.

A custom onboarding flow was implemented to collect trainer information before presenting subscription options, ensuring higher conversion rates and enabling follow-up with incomplete sign-ups. Conditional logic was added to differentiate between virtual and location-based services, including automated prompts requiring premium subscriptions for trainers offering nationwide virtual services.

The system includes a public directory where users can browse and filter trainers without logging in, improving accessibility and user engagement. Subscription management was integrated via Stripe, with two tiers—Growth and Premier—offering different levels of visibility and features.

Additional enhancements included multi-select service configurations, dynamic field visibility, geolocation capture, and flexible profile display options (individual vs. company branding). The result is a fully functional marketplace that balances user experience, business logic, and scalability.
