The DRAGOON Project Investment Matchmaking Platform

The problem

The DRAGOON Project engaged in the design and implementation of a gated investment matchmaking platform built on Tally, Airtable, and Softr. The platform was created to facilitate high-quality, confidential interactions between startups and investors through an invitation-led ecosystem with progressive disclosure and strict permission controls. The solution included structured onboarding workflows, multi-tier access visibility, founder and investor portals, automated approval and notification systems, investor access request management, and centralized workflow orchestration through Airtable as the single source of truth. The implementation focused heavily on institutional-grade UX/UI, operational efficiency, confidentiality, and scalable workflow automation.

What we built

The DRAGOON Project platform was designed as a highly curated investment ecosystem enabling structured interactions between vetted startups and qualified investors. Built using Tally for external onboarding, Airtable as the centralized operational database, and Softr as the front-end application layer, the system supported complex workflows while maintaining a seamless user experience.

The implementation included separate onboarding journeys for startups and investors, including nomination and invitation-based entry, structured application intake, automated Airtable record creation, approval workflows, and dynamic visibility management. Sophisticated permission controls ensured that startup information was progressively disclosed through a tiered visibility framework, preventing unauthorized browsing and protecting sensitive founder and company data.

Custom founder, investor, and admin portals were developed within Softr to support profile management, financial data handling, document uploads, investor access requests, workflow moderation, and reporting dashboards. Automated notifications and status updates streamlined communication between all stakeholders while preserving confidentiality and institutional professionalism.

The Airtable backend was fully normalized with linked relational structures covering users, startups, investors, nominations, financials, documents, taxonomy, and access request tracking. Workflow automations supported approval handling, visibility updates, request management, email notifications, and audit logging. The final solution delivered a scalable and secure matchmaking infrastructure focused on relevance, controlled access, and operational transparency.
